Portrait of My Father
Dimensions: 297 x 420mmThis drawing is a tribute to my late father, created using a technique known as Circulism. Often used by artists to achieve a highly realistic rendering of skin texture, Circulism involves layering countless tiny, overlapping circles. The beauty of the method lies in its imperfection, each circle contributes to a nuanced, organic surface that mimics the complexity of human skin.
While the process is meticulous and time-intensive, it yields deeply expressive results, especially in portraiture where capturing the subtle inconsistencies of skin is essential. This technique allowed me to honour my father's likeness with care, patience, and a deeply personal touch.

The Gaze between worlds
Lion Park (West of Johannesburg)
This drawing captures the striking gaze of an ostrich photographed at the Lion Park, just west of Johannesburg. There’s something both captivating and slightly unsettling about its stare, an intensity that hints at the unpredictable nature of these magnificent birds. Whether it's a sudden "peck" at the car window or a chaotic flurry of feathers and awkwardly powerful legs, ostriches are always full of surprises. Wild, curious, and undeniably beautiful
